The Winner of the Vic Heissl Award for OGI 2018

Well it's over, OGI 2018 went off with a bang, we were very luck this year as it did not rain over the OGI weekend,  even though thunder and lightning was all around us.

Our thanks to our special friends, Angelo Alessio Chelsea assistant coach and Marco Villani the Italian Consul Generale for being there and supporting us.

As my granddaughter said "why can't it be done every year" I know the committee have different views.

Sunday 8th July 2018: The Finchley team will be holding their annual summer scampagnata at The Villa Scalabrini, Doors open at 12pm with tickets costing £15 for over 12’s, £5 for 5 to 12’s with under 4’s going free, which includes a BBQ and dessert.

There will a It’s a Knock Out Style Competition for all to take part in.

Sunday 14th July 2018: Maria Tozzi’s Dementia Friends Talk, 11:30  at the Church of Christ The King, Bramley Road, Cockfosters N14 4HE. Maria has been involved with the OGI for over 30 years at every level. This year, you will have seen her liaising with the team managers at the pre race registrations.

They are designed so that people can understand how dementia will affect their loved ones, how they can cope with this debilitating illness and what help is available for them.

All are welcomed to attend and for more information please visit the website dementiafriends.org.uk

Sunday 22nd July 2018: Italian Procession and Sagra , this year’s curtain closer before Italians head back to the motherland for their summer holidays.

The procession around the streets of Clerkenwell, in honour of our Lady of Mount Carmel sets off from the Italian Church at 3pm. This is followed by The Sagra, a street fete in Warner Street, with music, Italian food and drink stalls all in a very Italian atmosphere.
